Description
These Air Fryer Jamaican Jerk Potatoes are a deliciously crispy side dish infused with spicy jerk seasoning, perfect for complementing grilled meats or enjoying as a tasty snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds of baby potatoes (or any small potatoes)
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of Jamaican jerk seasoning
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the Potatoes: Rinse the baby potatoes under cold water to remove any dirt. Scrub gently with a vegetable brush to ensure theyre clean, as the skins will be left on for extra flavor and texture.
- Cut the Potatoes: Cut the potatoes in half or quarters depending on their size. This helps them cook evenly and allows the seasoning to penetrate better.
- Boil the Potatoes (Optional): For tender potatoes, boil them in salted water for about 10 minutes until fork-tender but not falling apart. Drain and let cool slightly.
- Prepare the Seasoning Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, Jamaican jerk seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the Potatoes: Add the boiled (or raw) potatoes to the seasoning mixture and toss until evenly coated.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Arrange the Potatoes: Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
- Air Fry the Potatoes: Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Check for doneness at the 15-minute mark; they should be golden brown and crispy.
- Check for Doneness: Pierce a potato with a fork to ensure its tender inside and crispy outside. If needed, cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
- Garnish the Potatoes: Remove the potatoes from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving bowl. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley if desired.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve these Jamaican jerk potatoes as a side dish or snack, perfect with grilled meats, fish, or a refreshing salad.
