Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 box (5.1 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box (12 oz) vanilla wafers
  • Optional: additional banana slices and crushed vanilla wafers for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, pour in the instant vanilla pudding mix.
  2. Add 2 cups of cold milk to the bowl. Whisk together until thickened (about 2 minutes). Set aside.
  3. In a separate large mixing bowl, pour in 1 cup of heavy whipping cream.
  4. Add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  5. Using an electric mixer, whip on medium-high speed until soft peaks form (about 3-5 minutes). Be careful not to over-whip.
  6. Gently fold one-third of the whipped cream into the pudding mixture using a spatula.
  7. Continue folding in the remaining whipped cream until well combined and smooth.
  8. Grab a large trifle dish or individual serving cups.
  9. Place a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom of the dish.
  10. Slice 2 bananas and layer them over the wafers.
  11. Spoon a generous layer of the pudding mixture over the bananas.
  12. Repeat the layering process (wafers, bananas, pudding) for a total of 2-3 layers.
  13. Finish with the remaining pudding mixture on top.
  14. Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight).
  15. Before serving, garnish with additional banana slices and crushed vanilla wafers.
  16. Scoop portions into bowls or plates, ensuring each serving has layers of all components.
  17. Enjoy the delightful combination of creamy pudding, fresh bananas, and crunchy wafers!

Notes
