- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 cup fresh peaches, diced (or canned peaches, drained)
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork.
- Add the breadcrumbs to the meat mixture.
- Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese.
- Finely chop the onion and add it to the bowl.
- Add minced garlic to the mixture.
- Crack the egg into the mixture.
- Season with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, dried thyme, and dried oregano.
- Mix everything together until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Form the mixture into about 1-inch meatballs (20-24 total).
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet, spaced evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through (internal temperature of 160°F/70°C).
- In a medium saucepan, combine the barbecue sauce and diced peaches.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until warmed through and peaches have softened (about 5-7 minutes).
- Remove the meatballs from the oven and transfer to a large mixing bowl.
- Pour the warm barbecue peach sauce over the meatballs and gently toss to coat.
- Let the meatballs sit for a few minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
