1/4 cup water, plus more as needed
1 teaspoon granulated sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add cabbage, apple, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.
