Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made graham cracker pie crust (9-inch)
  • 1 package (3.9 oz) chocolate Jello instant pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk (whole or 2% for creaminess)
  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, for garnish)
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (optional, for garnish)
  • Fresh whipped cream (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, pour in the chocolate Jello instant pudding mix.
  2. Measure out 2 cups of cold milk and pour it into the bowl with the pudding mix.
  3. Using a whisk, mix the pudding and milk together vigorously for about 2 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  4. Let the pudding sit for about 5 minutes to set up a bit more.
  5. Fold in the whipped topping into the pudding mixture.
  6. Add the cup of whipped topping to the pudding mixture and gently fold using a spatula.
  7. Continue folding until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
  8. Grab your pre-made graham cracker pie crust.
  9. Pour the chocolate pudding mixture into the pie crust and spread it evenly.
  10. Smooth the top with a spatula for a nice presentation.
  11. Cover the pie with plastic wrap or aluminum foil to prevent skin from forming.
  12. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  13. Remove the pie from the refrigerator and take off the cover.
  14. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top.
  15. Add chocolate shavings or a light dusting of cocoa powder for presentation.
  16. Pipe fresh whipped cream around the edges for a beautiful border.
  17. Slice the pie into wedges using a sharp knife (dipped in warm water for clean cuts).
  18. Serve each slice on a plate, adding a dollop of fresh whipped cream and extra chocolate chips or shavings if desired.
  19. Enjoy with family and friends!
  20. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 3 days.
