Cold Brew Orange Tonic: The Ultimate Refreshing Summer Drink

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A refreshing blend of cold brew coffee, bright orange juice, and bubbly tonic water.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ounces cold brew coffee concentrate
  • 4 ounces tonic water, chilled
  • 2 ounces fresh orange juice, strained
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange slices, for garnish
  • Optional: Simple syrup or agave nectar, to taste
  • Optional: Orange zest, for garnish
  • Optional: A splash of orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Grand Marnier)

Instructions

  1. Chill Your Ingredients: Ensure tonic water and orange juice are well-chilled. Consider chilling your serving glass.
  2. Prepare the Orange Juice: Use freshly squeezed orange juice and strain it to remove pulp.
  3. Measure the Cold Brew Concentrate: Measure 6 ounces of cold brew coffee concentrate. Adjust to preference based on strength.
  4. Combine the Ingredients: In a tall glass filled with ice cubes, pour in the cold brew coffee concentrate, then add the strained orange juice.
  5. Top with Tonic Water: Gently pour the chilled tonic water over the coffee and orange juice.
  6. Stir Gently: Use a long spoon or stirrer to gently combine the ingredients. Avoid over-stirring.
  7. Taste and Adjust (if needed): Taste and add simple syrup or agave nectar to sweeten, or more orange juice for a stronger orange flavor.
  8. Garnish: Garnish with a fresh orange slice and/or orange zest.
  9. Optional: Add a Splash of Orange Liqueur: Add about 1/2 ounce of orange liqueur (Cointreau or Grand Marnier).
  10. Serve Immediately: Serve the Cold Brew Orange Tonic immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness to your preference.
  • Experiment with different types of tonic water.
  • To make a batch, multiply ingredients and combine cold brew, orange juice, and simple syrup in a pitcher. Add tonic water and ice just before serving.
  • Get creative with other flavors like rosemary, thyme, vanilla extract, cinnamon, or nutmeg.
  • Strong brewed coffee can be used instead of cold brew concentrate.
  • Omit orange liqueur for a mocktail version.
  • Use a beautiful glass, add a colorful straw, and garnish generously for presentation.
  • Infuse the orange juice with orange zest for a more intense orange flavor.
  • Freeze orange juice into ice cubes to prevent dilution.
  • Experiment with garnishes like edible flowers, fresh herbs, or candied ginger.
