  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Take the chicken breasts out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on one side without moving them.
  3. Flip the chicken breasts and cook for an additional 6-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Let it melt and bubble, scraping up any brown bits from the chicken.
  5. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden.
  6. Pour in 1 cup of chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.
  7. Add 1 cup of heavy cream to the skillet and stir well to combine.
  8. Season the sauce with 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning and 1 teaspoon of paprika. Stir to incorporate.
  9. Allow the sauce to simmer for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens. If too thick, add a splash of chicken broth.
  10. Stir in 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  11. Add the chicken back into the skillet, spooning sauce over the top. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to soak up flavors.
  12. Remove from heat and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
  13. Serve each chicken breast with a generous spoonful of creamy garlic butter sauce. Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
