Crispy Salmon Sticks are a delightful appetizer or main dish, featuring fresh salmon fillets coated in a seasoned breadcrumb mixture and fried to a golden crisp. Perfect for dipping, these tasty sticks are sure to impress at any gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of fresh salmon fillets, skin removed
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Cut the salmon into sticks, about 1 inch wide and 3-4 inches long. Season with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of smoked paprika.
  3. Set up a breading station:
    • In a shallow bowl, add the flour.
    • In a second shallow bowl, whisk the eggs.
    • In a third shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. Bread the salmon sticks:
    • Dip each stick in flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally roll in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. In a large skillet, heat enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom of the pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Fry the salmon sticks in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Use tongs to flip gently.
  7. Transfer cooked salmon sticks to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve warm with lemon wedges and optional chopped parsley. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce!

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
  • For a healthier option, consider baking or air frying the salmon sticks.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
