  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Indulge in this creamy Fettuccine Alfredo, featuring fresh ingredients and a delightful garlic flavor. It’s perfect for a comforting dinner or special occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with water, add a generous amount of salt, and bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
  2. Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water. Stir gently and cook according to package instructions (10-12 minutes) until al dente.
  3. Before draining, reserve about 1 cup of the pasta cooking water.
  4. Drain the pasta in a colander without rinsing.
  5. In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  6. Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  7. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring. Bring to a gentle simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
  9. Taste and season with salt and black pepper.
  10. Toss the drained fettuccine in the skillet with the Alfredo sauce until evenly coated.
  11. If the sauce is too thick, add more reserved pasta water until desired creaminess is achieved.
  12. Remove from heat and sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
  13. Twirl the fettuccine onto plates or into bowls.
  14. Top with freshly chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese and black pepper if desired.
  15. Serve immediately while hot and creamy.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh garlic and freshly grated Parmesan cheese yield the best flavor.
  • Don’t Overcook the Pasta: Cook al dente, as it will continue to cook slightly when mixed with the sauce.
  • Experiment with Add-ins: Consider adding cooked chicken, shrimp, or vegetables for a heartier dish.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently, adding a splash of cream or pasta water.
