  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These Fiery Chicken Fries are crispy and packed with flavor, making them an ideal snack or appetizer. Marinated in buttermilk and coated with a spicy seasoning blend, these golden-fried chicken tenders are perfect for dipping in your favorite hot sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of chicken tenders
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Hot sauce (for serving)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the chicken tenders under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a medium bowl, pour in the buttermilk and add the chicken tenders, ensuring they are fully submerged. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Set up your breading station: In one shallow dish, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. In a second dish, whisk the eggs. In a third dish, add the breadcrumbs.
  4. After marinating, remove each chicken tender from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge in the flour mixture, dip in the eggs, and roll in the breadcrumbs.
  5. In a large skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the breaded chicken tenders in batches for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
  7. Remove the chicken fries with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve the chicken fries on a platter, garnished with fresh parsley if desired, and with hot sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add chopped jalapeños to the buttermilk marinade or mix hot sauce into the egg wash.
  • For a healthier option, bake the chicken fries at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Leftover chicken fries can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
