Enjoy these irresistible Nutella stuffed cookies featuring a soft, chewy exterior and a rich, gooey Nutella center. Easy to make and perfect for chocolate lovers, they are sure to be a hit!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1 cup Nutella (or any hazelnut spread)
  • Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  6. Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the dough to an airtight container.
  7. Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for best results).
  8. Scoop out about 1 tablespoon of Nutella and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat until you have about 12-15 dollops.
  9. Freeze the Nutella dollops for about 15-20 minutes.
  10. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  11. Scoop out a portion of the cookie dough (about 2 tablespoons) and roll it into a ball.
  12. Flatten the dough ball slightly, place a frozen dollop of Nutella in the center, and fold the edges of the dough over the Nutella, pinching to seal.
  13. Roll the stuffed dough ball gently between your hands and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat for the remaining dough and Nutella.
  14. Leave enough space between each cookie on the baking sheet.
  15. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked.
  16. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, sprinkle sea salt on top of the cookies right after they come out of the oven.
  • Ensure the Nutella is firm before stuffing to prevent it from leaking during baking.
