Description

This creamy cheeseburger macaroni is a comforting one-pot meal featuring ground beef, elbow macaroni, and melted cheddar cheese in a savory broth. Quick and easy to prepare, it’s perfect for busy weeknights and sure to satisfy the whole family!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients on a clean countertop.
  2. Dice the onion into small pieces for even cooking.
  3. Mince the garlic cloves finely.
  4. Measure out the elbow macaroni, beef broth, and milk, and set aside.
  5. Shred the cheddar cheese if using a block.
  6. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  7. Add the diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  8. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  9. Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  10. Season with salt and pepper to taste and drain excess fat if necessary.
  11. Add the elbow macaroni to the pot, stirring to combine.
  12. Pour in the beef broth and milk, followed by Worcestershire sauce and mustard. Stir well.
  13. Increase heat to high and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and cover.
  14. Let simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until macaroni is tender and most liquid is absorbed.
  15. Remove the pot from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese gradually until melted.
  16. If too thick, add a splash of milk to reach desired creaminess.
  17. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
  18. Let the dish sit for a couple of minutes to thicken.
  19. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions or parsley if desired.
  20. Optionally, sprinkle additional shredded cheese on top before serving.
