Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ripe pineapple
- 1–2 tablespoons of sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
- 1 cup of cold water (optional, for dilution)
- Ice cubes (for serving)
- Mint leaves (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Select a ripe pineapple with a sweet aroma, vibrant color, and fresh green leaves.
- Slice off the top and bottom of the pineapple to create a stable base.
- Stand the pineapple upright and carefully slice down the sides to remove the tough outer skin, ensuring to cut deep enough to remove the “eyes.”
- Cut the pineapple into quarters lengthwise and remove the core from each quarter.
- Chop the pineapple flesh into smaller chunks for easier blending.
- Place the chopped pineapple chunks into a blender. Add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar if you prefer a sweeter juice.
- Optionally, add 1 cup of cold water for a thinner consistency.
- Blend on high speed for 30-60 seconds until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Place a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a bowl or pitcher.
- Pour the blended mixture into the strainer and press down on the pulp to extract as much juice as possible.
- Discard the leftover pulp or save it for other uses.
- Taste the juice and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more sugar or cold water if needed.
- Transfer the juice to a pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill.
- Serve over ice cubes in glasses.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves for an extra touch.
- Store any leftover juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
- Stir before serving leftovers, and consider adding ice cubes to refresh.
- Add other fruits like mango or orange for a tropical twist.
- Squeeze lime or lemon juice for added zing.
- Freeze juice in ice cube trays for cocktails or smoothies.
- For an adult version, add a splash of rum or vodka.
- Use ripe fruit for the best flavor.
- Adjust sweetness and consistency to your preference.
