- 1 cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy, your choice)
- 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree
- 2 tablespoons of sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice (plus extra for garnish)
- Whipped cream (for topping)
- Optional: a pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the pumpkin puree, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and a pinch of salt (if using).
- Over medium heat, stir the mixture until well combined and heated through (about 2-3 minutes).
- Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract, stirring well.
- Brew 1 cup of strong coffee or pull a shot of espresso.
- Set the coffee aside.
- In a clean saucepan, pour in 1 cup of milk.
- Heat the milk over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching.
- Once steaming, froth the milk if desired.
- In a large mug, pour the brewed coffee or espresso.
- Add the warm pumpkin mixture and stir well.
- Gently pour the frothed milk over the coffee and pumpkin mixture, stirring gently to combine.
- Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
- Sprinkle extra pumpkin pie spice on top.
- Optionally, drizzle with caramel sauce or chocolate syrup.
