  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Raspberry Iced Tea is a refreshing blend of black tea, homemade raspberry syrup, and a hint of lemon juice, making it the perfect drink for warm days. Customize it to your liking and enjoy a delightful sip!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups of water
  • 4 black tea bags (or your favorite tea)
  • 1 cup of fresh raspberries (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup of sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Water: Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a medium-sized pot.
  2. Steep the Tea: Remove the boiling water from heat and add the 4 tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes, adjusting steeping time for desired strength.
  3. Remove the Tea Bags: Carefully remove the tea bags, squeezing them gently to extract flavor.
  4. Prepare the Raspberries: Rinse 1 cup of fresh raspberries under cold water and pat dry.
  5. Cook the Raspberries: In a small saucepan, combine the raspberries and 1/2 cup of sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring gently until the raspberries break down and the sugar dissolves (about 5-7 minutes).
  6. Strain the Mixture: Remove from heat and strain the raspberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing down to extract as much liquid as possible.
  7. Mix the Tea and Syrup: In a large pitcher, combine the brewed tea and raspberry syrup, stirring well.
  8. Add Lemon Juice: Pour in 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir again.
  9. Taste and Adjust: Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or tartness as desired.
  10. Cool Down: Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours.
  11. Prepare Your Glasses: Fill glasses with ice cubes.
  12. Pour the Tea: Pour the chilled raspberry iced tea over the ice-filled glasses.
  13. Garnish: Add fresh raspberries and a sprig of mint to each glass for garnish.
  14. Enjoy: Sip and enjoy your refreshing homemade raspberry iced tea!

Notes

  • Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir before serving as the syrup may settle.
