Description

Crispy baked sweet potato fries seasoned with a blend of spices for a delicious and healthier snack or side dish. Easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional, such as parsley or cilantro)

Instructions

  1. Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly under running water. Peel them using a vegetable peeler, or leave the skin on for added texture and nutrients.
  2. Slice the sweet potatoes into fry shapes, aiming for uniform thickness of about 1/4 inch wide.
  3. Soak the cut fries in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  4. Drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  5. In a small bowl, mix sea salt, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  6. In a large mixing bowl, add the dried fries and drizzle with olive oil. Toss gently to coat.
  7. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the fries and toss again until well coated.
  8. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  9. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  10. Arrange the seasoned fries in a single layer on the baking sheet, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  12. The fries are done when golden brown and crispy. For extra crispiness, bake for an additional 5 minutes, watching closely.
  13. Carefully remove the fries from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes.
  14. Sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.
  15. Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, feel free to experiment with different spices or herbs in the seasoning mix.
  • If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
