**Ingredients:**
* 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
* 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
* 2 large eggs
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
**For the cinnamon-sugar coating:**
* 1/4 cup granulated sugar
* 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, and the eggs until smooth.
- Beat in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix well.
- Shape dough into small teddy bears.
- In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon.
- Roll the teddy bears in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Place on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned.
- Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Recipe can easily be doubled.
- For a slightly softer cookie, bake for 8 minutes.
