- 4 large croissants
- 8 ounces sliced turkey ham
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 4 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the croissants in half horizontally, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, combine the Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, and honey (if using).
- Mix until smooth and well combined, adjusting the ratio to taste.
- Set the sauce aside.
- Spread a spoonful of the sauce on the inside of each croissant half.
- Layer the sliced turkey ham on the bottom half of each croissant.
- Place a slice of Swiss cheese on top of the turkey ham.
- Add freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Close the croissants with the top half and press down gently.
- Brush the tops of the croissants with olive oil or melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
- Let the croissant melts cool for a minute before serving.
- Optionally, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley or chives.
