Enjoy the cozy warmth of this White Chocolate Chai Latte, featuring a creamy blend of milk, aromatic chai spices, and sweet white chocolate. Perfect for chilly days or a relaxing afternoon, this delightful drink is sure to warm your heart.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups milk (whole, almond, or oat milk)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons loose chai tea or 2 chai tea bags
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of loose chai tea or 2 chai tea bags.
  2. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. If using loose tea, strain it out after simmering. If using tea bags, simply remove them from the saucepan.
  4. In another saucepan, pour in 2 cups of milk (whole, almond, or oat).
  5. Heat the milk over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching. Heat until hot but not boiling.
  6. Once warm, add in the 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips. Stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  7. Add in the sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and ground cardamom. Stir well to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  8. Once the milk mixture is smooth and the white chocolate is melted, pour the brewed chai tea into the saucepan with the milk mixture.
  9. Stir gently to combine the chai and milk, creating a beautiful creamy color.
  10. Let the combined mixture heat for another minute or two to ensure everything is warm and well blended.
  11. Pour the white chocolate chai latte into your favorite mugs, filling them about three-quarters full.
  12. Top each latte with a generous dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
  13. Sprinkle a little extra ground cinnamon on top for garnish.
  14. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Experiment with spices to suit your taste; add more ginger or a pinch of black pepper for a spicier chai.
  • For a vegan option, use plant-based milk and skip the whipped cream or use a vegan alternative.
  • Adjust the sweetness level according to your preference; honey or maple syrup can be used as alternatives to sugar.
